Haruki divorced her husband and moved to a strange land with her young daughter. She immediately exchanges greetings with Ayako, who lives in her neighborhood. Mothers who send their children to the same kindergarten are able to spend their free time in the afternoon chatting with each other. However, Haruki can't keep up with the story of her mother friend who is far from her age, and ends up complaining about her, but she is overheard by her mother friend, Natsuko.
